Objective: Craft a learning session(s) designed to optimize learning and performance of adult learners.

Goal: Improve engagement and retention from learning events in adults with measurable results. Statistical measurement to be determined based on learning project. Utilize SMART goal setting technique to determine measurements and timelines. (Specific, measurable, attainable, reasonable and time driven.)

Strategies in Use: ADDIE, Gagnes 9 Events of Instruction

  • ADDIE – Course development structure
    • Analysis of audience, learning needs, clarification of instructional problem and objective
    • Design subject matter including goals, tools, assessments and resources
    • Development of content using story boards, graphics, technology and testing methods
    • Implementation of learning event with modification sessions to optimize and improve learning
    • Evaluation of formative and summative assessments to determine performance and effectiveness of program
  • Gagnes 9 Events of Instruction – Learning development structure
    • Gain attention of learner
    • Inform learner of objectives
    • Stimulate recall of past learning
    • Present new content
    • Provide learning guidance
    • Elicit performance through formative assessment
    • Provide feedback (assessment score)

Needs Assessment of Organizational Objectives Towards Learning

  • Identify business driver to be impacted (business needs)
  • Identify learner motivations, readiness to learn (job performance needs)
  • Identify leadership role in short and long term knowledge retention and measurement
  • Identify organizational culture to align learning event with core beliefs, values and policies
  • Identify environmental needs of organization and learner (online, in person, module on demand, traditional vs non traditional learning environments)

Fee Structure Basics:

1 Fifteen (15) Minute Learning Module, two formative assessments, one summative assessment = 10 to 15 hours of development

2 Fifteen (15) Minute Learning Modules, four formative assessments, one summative assessment = 20 to 30 hours of development

3 Fifteen (15) Minute Learning Modules, six formative assessments, one summative assessment = 30 to 40 hours of development

4 Fifteen (15) Minute Learning Modules, 8 formative assessments, one summative assessment = 40 to 50 hours of development

The above may fluctuate depending on the amount of research and development of content is needed. All training programs are designed to deliver via online using an asynchronous learning formats. Customized training programs available.

Hourly rate – $150, large project and long-term contracts may receive a negotiated rate lower than published rate.

About the Instructional Designer

Lisa Haas, M.S. has been a corporate trainer for over 30 years, delivering programming that includes best practices for sales and marketing, entrepreneurialism and leadership. She has been developing her own content as it relates to these topics for over a decade. Lisa also holds a Master of Science degree in organizational leadership with an emphasis in performance and learning. She utilizes this skill set to provide instructional design support towards online learning courses designed specifically for adult learners. She also serves as a consultant and coach to small business owners on marketing strategy, development, implementation and performance measurement. Lastly, Lisa is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver, University College within the communications department.
